The Glendale High School Track & Field Newsletter has gone high-tech. Now there are several links to the items you need
or want to see. How cool is that?
This newsletter is not just for athletes. Parents need to get in on the action
too. Have them send their email address to Coach Bailey so that they can get on the mailing list. For this newsletter,
either print it out for your parents or foward the link to them.
This marks the first week of the competative season. You
will want to check out the Guide To Meets so that you know all of the ins and outs of a track meet.
The athletes have been
working hard preparing for the season. It is now time to see how they are progressing. Mark your calendars so that you
do not miss any of the action.

Newsletter Gets a High Tech Face Lift
On Thursday, March 4th, your GHS Track Team hits the road for its first dual meet of the season against the Grizzlies of Golden Valley.
With so many new faces on this year's team, it will be fun to see them in action for the first time. Since this is only our
third year against Golden Valley, many meet records are sure to fall. First race will be around 3:20 pm.
The Santa Clarita Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, March 6th at Canyon HS in Santa Clarita. We have athletes scheduled
in many relays and individual events. Medals will be awarded to the top 5 in each event. Athletes need to report to the
front of GHS before 8:00 AM. The first events are scheduled for 10:00 AM. The last event will begin around 3:45 PM.
Busy Week for the Nitro Tracksters. Meets Thursday and Saturday
Parent Helpers Needed for First Home Meet
Our first home meet is set for Wednesday, March 10th against Monrovia HS. We need parents to help out on the field. We
will need 3 timers, a head timer, a person to help run each field event (6 total), a clerk of the course, and 2 parents to help in
the team area. You would need to be able to get to the school around 3:00 for a 3:30 starting time. We will teach you
everything you need to know. Email Coach Bailey at Rbailey@gusd.net.
