Behavior: All Athletes are expected to be courteous and respectful to all teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, GHS staff and student body, and other GHS Coaches. You represent your teammates, coaches and school, so behave appropriately. Consequences can range from being held out of events up to being removed from the team.
Responsibilities: All Athletes are to practice sound eating, hydration, sleeping and time management habits. Athletes should have read and have a copy of the school athletic paperwork. All Athletes are expected to purchase an ASB card to show their support of the athletic programs that these funds help support. Also, all athletes are expected to fully participate in any fundraising activities that the team engages in.
Team Spirit: All Athletes are expected to show their support of their school and their team by wearing designated apparel on meet days and Fridays. Meet day apparel will be decided the week of the meet. Fridays, athletes will be in red and black attire.
Equipment: All Athletes are expected to have ALL of their needed equipment with them at all times. This consists of a workout outfit (shirt and shorts), running shoes, warm-ups, 1-2 bottles of water, a small towel, and any medication that the athlete needs. It is HIGHTLY RECOMMENDED that a second emergency workout outfit is kept at the school. If you forget something at home, it is your responsibility to find a way to get it to before workout time.
Athletes will purchase, through the team, their meet uniform. Athletes are expected to keep their uniforms neat and clean. Lost uniforms need to be repurchased. If you forget something at home, it is your responsibility to find a way to get it to before your race time.
Removal: Any athlete who leaves the team (for any reason) before the end of the season will NOT be allowed to practice with their next team until our season is over in early May. They will be placed in a 6th period PE class for the duration of the season. Any awards earned will be forfeited.
